Healing Starts Here
Where evidence-based care meets the wisdom of the brain/body connection.

Meet Jacqueline Smith
Counselling Therapist & Certified EMDR (Trauma) Practitioner
Welcome. I’m Dr. Jacqueline (Jackie) Smith, a Registered Nurse and Counselling Therapist dedicated to supporting individuals and families in their journey toward healing and wellness. My practice integrates evidence-based approaches with compassionate care, focusing on the unique needs of each client.
With specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy, and Somatic Psychotherapy, I help individuals navigate trauma, addiction, anxiety, and other complex challenges. My approach draws on the profound connection between the brain and body, supporting healing at both physiological and emotional levels.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as an Associate Professor and researcher at the University of Calgary, where my academic work explores addiction, mental health, and trauma across the lifespan. My research focuses on the brain-body connection in trauma recovery, and informs my integrative therapeutic approach.
I am a proud member of the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA #2943) and the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA #54152). My practice is grounded in the highest ethical standards, emphasizing safety, respect, and collaboration. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering a holistic, client-centered approach that considers the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of health.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one, I am here to walk alongside you with compassion, skill, and respect for your unique healing process.
Connection is the First Step
